For 82North Optimum service, the application for the merchant account takes about a week from completion of the form to activation on your 82North site. It should take less, but allow for that full week. All sizes of nonprofits can be approved for a merchant account with your 501(c)3 IRS letter; you do not need to be big or be established for years.
We will work with you in getting your merchant account; the process takes about a week.
Send us your logo and give us a sense of how you would like your site to look. Take a look at some of our other clients to see which one works best for you.
If you wish, you can place our "widget" on your site for people to click to link to your site on 82north.com. Place your 82north url as the hyperlink for the widget.
- Make sure you make it easy for people to find the Donate Now button online - put it on the front page of your website and EVERY page of your Join Us section of your website.
- Make sure your marketing materials clearly state "now accepting registrations online!" or "now accepting donations online!"
- Make sure your printed material - invitation, annual solicitation, even your newsletter - include your website name.
- Watch HOW your customers are using your site - perhaps you would like to gather more information when they make their gift?
